Some facts of poker history
It goes without saying that poker is the most well-known card game in the world, poker has it’s foundation in the French society, in America, in New Orleans at the beginning of the 19th century.
The name comes from the French term “Poque” but most people have the same opinion that the foundation of poker, dating back to the 15th century, was the German game Pochspiel. In America it turned out to be fashionable very rapidly as it was played in gambling saloons and steam boats on the Louisiana and the Mississippi rivers.
Poker is a game of possibility. On the other hand, when you believe the concept of making a bet, poker engages certain skills and psychology.

The hands are ranked as follows:
Royal Flush: a card combination of cards, all of the same suit ranking Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten.
Straight Flush: a five card series where all the cards are of the same suit. For example, 4,5,6,7,8, of hearts is a Straight Flush.
Four-of-a-Kind: four cards of the same status with one other card of varying status. The highest ranking Four-of-a-Kind would succeed in case of a tie.
Full House: a hand includes of both a three-of-a-kind (three cards with the same rank) and a pair (two cards with the same status). For instance – K-K-K-6-6.
Flush: combination of 5 cards of the same suit.
Straight: five cards in series, of mixed suits. (K-A-2-3-4) straights are not applicable.
Three-of-a-Kind: three cards of the same status with two other cards of varying status (not a pair).
Two Pair: a hand that includes two cards of one status, two cards of another status, and a different fifth card.
One Pair: a hand that includes one set of cards with the same status.
High Card: the feeblest of poker hands, is not applicable for online poker games, but if you play it at a casino you succeed if you have the highest ranking card. In the occasion of a tie, the next highest card wins, and so on.
In a classic online poker game you first require to make a bet then your cards are displayed. Next level is to select which cards you want to have and which should be altered.
This is the part where you can guess your probability of winning. You can even alter all 5 cards if you wish. The computer then will give you the outcome.
